As a Twilight Zone fan I am highly critical of any new material on the Twilight Zone. This book however, is a very thorough, well-written and well thought-out reference guide to the classic series. It's not hard to see that this was a labor of love for the book's authors, Don Presnell and Marty McGee. Their praises, as well as their criticisms are well-placed and on-target. I found myself agreeing with almost every criticism they put forth.
The book starts with a little history on Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone. Then there is the invaluable episode guide to all five seasons of the Twilight Zone, containing all the pertinent information (airdate, stars, etc.), a tight, concise synopsis of each episode, and various notes and commentaries. Fans of the Twilight Zone will especially like the Principal Actors and Their Twilight Zone Credits section (p.222), a listing of all the main TZ actors, and the episodes they appeared in. There is also a section listing TZ episodes that, for various reasons, were never filmed. Wrapping it all up is an exhaustive bibliography and index.
This book contains a massive amount of information about Rod Serling's Twilight Zone, and every Twilight Zone fan should have it in their library.
